If Italy is on your 2026 Euro summer mood board, you’re not alone. With incredible coastal views, historic cities, insanely good pasta, and endless Aperols, Italy is somewhere that every girl has to visit in her lifetime. It is the perfect place for a girls' trip, it’s safe, affordable, HOT, and there are so many different things to do too!
Whether you're planning a solo adventure or joining a group trip with other girls in summer 2026, these are five places in Italy you absolutely can’t miss.
We’ve put together a few reasons why each and every one of these spots deserves to be on your list, and we’ll be honest, it was HARD to narrow it down to 5! So girls, grab your sunnies and your most flowy dress, we’re going to Italy!
Before we jump straight in, we now have two amazing trips that show you the magic of Italy. We have an 8-day Italy route from Rome to Sorrento AND our 11-day Europe By Rail trip, which takes you around some of Europe’s highlights, including Venice and Milan!
Here are our top 5 spots to add to your Italy bucket list:
No Italy trip is complete without a few days in Rome. It’s busy, but in the best way possible. There aren't many cities that can mix ancient history with buzzing piazzas, cute cafés, and some of the best pasta you’ll ever eat.
On our Italy Girls trip, we start our 8 days here, and it's always a real pinch me moment when you stand in front of the Colosseum with your new group of besties.
Rome is also home to the iconic Trevi Fountain. Yes, you absolutely have to throw a coin over your shoulder to guarantee your return to Rome. And some of you will instantly recognise it from The Lizzie McGuire Movie. Arguably, one of the most important cultural moments of our childhoods.
Another thing of Rome we love about Rome is all of its hidden neighbourhoods that have SO much character. Trastevere is one of Rome’s prettiest neighbourhoods, and we LOVE exploring here. It’s full of cute bars, hidden restaurants, and seriously good vintage shops. Perfect for a little shopping spree before grabbing pasta and wine with the girls.

Naples is the birthplace of pizza, do we need to say anything else? Oh, it’s also the perfect base for exploring Pompeii and Herculaneum! The mix of incredible history and good food here, like Rome, makes it a must-visit!
One of the best ways to experience the city is on a local food tour, tasting everything from fresh mozzarella, locally cured meats, to the best pizza you'll ever have. Your amazing Gals Who guide will also be able to show you where to get the Pizza fritta, a calzone-style fried Pizza which is famous in Naples!
Also, just outside the city of Naples, you’ll find the incredible ruins of Pompeii. Walking through this ancient Roman city frozen in time after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius is honestly mind-blowing and a must-do in Italy. This world-famous UNESCO World Heritage Site is best seen with a local guide who will be able to give you context for everything you see.
Another nearby highlight is Herculaneum. After exploring the ruins on the Gals Who Italy trip, we go wine tasting on the volcanic slopes below Vesuvius, sipping local wines grown in the rich volcanic soil, a real bucket-list moment. History and local wine? Sounds like a dream to us!
Sorrento feels like stepping straight into a postcard. Sitting above the Mediterranean Sea, it’s the perfect place to start exploring the Amalfi Coast.
One of the most unforgettable experiences here is hiking the famous Path of the Gods. The trail is high above the coastline with views of turquoise water, dramatic cliffs and tiny colourful villages below. The hike is about 4-5 miles long, but there are non-stop views along the way! Oh, and the best part? Stopping along the route for fresh lemon sorbet made from the region’s legendary Amalfi lemons.

Capri is one of the most glamorous spots in Italy! Think turquoise water, chic boutiques and flower-covered streets.
Start by taking the chairlift up to Monte Solaro for some of the most incredible views across the island. Floating up above the lemon trees and rooftops is just the most magical thing! When in Capri, it is also a must to wander through the beautiful Gardens of Augustus. These botanical gardens overlook the iconic Faraglioni rock formations and offer some of the best photo spots in Capri.
Capri is the perfect location for walking around, having a browse in the boutiques and people-watching whilst enjoying an Aperol. Perfect!
Venice is one of those places that feels like nowhere else on Earth. Built entirely on water, this city is just pure magic! There are no cars in the centre of Venice, which makes it one of the best places in the world to explore on foot. Our top tip would be not to be afraid to get lost. Every little alleyway has something unique to see, and most of the time, you will end up in a tiny courtyard filled with people enjoying an aperitif.
Oh, and of course, you have to take a classic gondola ride through the canals; it’s the ultimate Venice experience and a perfect way to see the city from the water. Make sure you also wander over the famous Rialto Bridge. The views over the Grand Canal are incredible, especially at sunset.
