Travelling in your 20’s or 30's , where do you even start?

Whether you’ve just left college or university or looking to take a career break to travel, your 20’s are the best time to take that bucket list trip!. But there's a big jump from dreaming about a trip to actually boarding the plane and that can feel really overwhelming. If you’ve been searching for how to travel alone as a woman but feel stuck on the planning, you’re not alone. I felt it too myself. I watched 100’s of tiktoks, youtube videos and googled question after question trying to find the best and safest way to travel as a girl in her 20’s looking to explore the world and then i found gals who travel. A community for women in their 20’s and 30’s looking for adventure with organised group trips around the world and it’s safe to say, it’s the one of best thing that happened to me. I met some of my best friends and travelled to destinations I would have never imagined going solo. So here’s some small bits to know about travelling in your 20’s from a women who did it!

4 essential tips for your first solo trip as a woman

- stop waiting for friends: I wish I could scream this from the rooftops, In your 20’s everyone is at different life stages and that’s okay. Joining an all-girls travel group is the best way to see the world without waiting on anyone else. You find women who are like-minded, ready made besties and wanting to travel to new destinations too!

- prioritize safety and support: solo female travel safety is the #1 concern for solo female travellers according to google, and it’s completely understandable. Choose trips that offer support and trusted local guides can really make a difference for your first trip. Helping you build confidence, travel stress free and learn different cultures and relax completely.

- choose a trip that’s right for you, not one that’s trending: Instead of rushing to join the next destination all over social media, look for meaningful connections. Whether it’s a costa rica trip through the jungles and volcanoes or a girls trip to bali with surfing and beach vibes, focus on experiences that help you and tick off your own personal bucket list..

- use a trusted Itinerary but be flexible!: okay i see you my type A girls and type B girls asking wdym? Travel planning can be stressful but i think that’s so much power in having it all sorted for you, logistics, stays, transport. Booking a group trip can take away so much unnecessary stress and worry and leaves you the chance to prioritise making friends, memories and enjoying every minute! Being flexible with your plans after the trip would be a win win (if you have the time of course) gives you the chance to see where the wind takes you and if any of the other gals on your group have onward travel plans!
