This is your guide to dreaming, choosing and booking the girls' trip of a lifetime. Whether you have been following us on socials for a while and are looking to finally book the trip you’ve been dreaming of for months. Or you’ve just discovered these incredible trips and want to dive straight in, here are some of our pointers for getting one step closer to your dream trip!
From island hopping, city exploring, mountain skiing, and everything in between, here’s how to get your Gals Who Travel adventure off the ground.
The first question every planner should ask themselves is: What kind of experience am I craving?
Are you imagining:
- Beaches and island vibes in the Philippines or Bali?
- Culture and history in cities like Rome, Tokyo or Ho Chi Minh City?
- Active adventure and nature across New Zealand or Sri Lanka?
- Snow, slopes and après skiing in Andorra?
Gals Who Travel offer a huge range of trips, from island hopping and coastal paradises to city itineraries and ski-focused girls' trips, so start by visualising your perfect journey, and we can get planning from there!
Do you want:
- Relaxed beach days and island hopping?
- Busy markets and city nights?
- Scenic hikes or adrenaline activities?
- A blend of all of the above?
Knowing the vibe you want will help narrow down the destination list and trip style.
Once you know the type of trip, the next step is choosing where to go.
Here’s how to think about it:
Match Your Interests
If sloping beaches and turquoise water are your jam → places like Bali or the Philippines are perfect.
Love architecture, food and nightlife? Then, Europe's cities by rail or in Italy might be calling.
Craving cultural depth and a mix of nature + cities? Sri Lanka or Vietnam could be ideal.
Gals Who Travel runs trips across Asia, Europe, Oceania, Africa and Latin America, including:
Island and beach trips: Bali, Philippines, Thailand
City + cultural explores: Italy, Japan
Adventure + nature: New Zealand, Australia, Sri Lanka
Europe Adventures: Europe by rail, skiing in Andorra
👯♀️ Tip: Don’t overlook posts in the Gals Who Travel blogs and our instagram for inspiration - like top destinations to visit in a given year or personal trip accounts from fellow travellers can be found! We've done the research so you can just sit back, scroll and find your dream destination!
Once you’ve picked a potential place, it’s time to choose when. Good timing makes a big difference in how much you enjoy your trip.
Consider Weather & Seasons!
Tropical places might have rainy vs dry seasons. Europe and ski trips obviously differ wildly by month. Think about what climate you want — warm sun, winter snow, or mild spring days.
Match Your Availability
Look at your time off, commitments, and desired trip length, Gals Who trips vary from week-long breaks to adventures that last a couple of weeks.
Plan Early for Best Prices
Booking early gives you more choices in flights and trip dates. We typically release trip dates about 6-8 months in advance.
Now that you have a destination and a date, it’s time to commit.
Decide on a rough budget that includes:
- Flights
- Trip cost (deposit + balance)
- Daily spending money (our team can help you with a guide for this when you are booked on!)
- Travel insurance
- Vaccines (not required for all trips!)
Lock in Your Spot
Most Gals Who Travel trips require a deposit to secure your spot, and you can set up a payment plan as long as the trip is more than ~60 days away. The final balance is typically due around 60 days before departure, so mark that date on your calendar when you book!
The excitement really starts! ✨
Around 30 days before your trip, you’ll be added to the Gals Who group chat for your tour with your fellow gals and trip host. This is where you can introduce yourself, ask questions, share packing ideas, and start building friendships before you even arrive.
The Gals Who Travel Facebook page is also a brilliant place to ask for advice, get tips from past travellers, and connect with the wider community.
So now you've booked, it's time to plan for departure day, packing and more! Stay tuned - Part 2 is coming soon, where we’ll cover everything you need to know about preparing for your trip once you’re officially booked on! 🌍 💛
