Is Skiing the Right Trip for Me? Do I have to be a pro?

Almost definitely! It's a totally fair question! But if you love trying new experiences, being active, and waking up to amazing views every single day. Skiing has to be on your list!

The Gals Who Ski trip is perfect for all abilities, from those who have never experienced proper snow before to experienced gals who want to meet new people whilst improving their technique. There’s room for everyone!

The Gals Who team has done their research, don’t worry, girls! If you’ve never strapped on skis before, Pas de la Casa is beginner-friendly and super welcoming. The slopes are gentle, lessons are available to book for all levels, and the whole Gals Who Ski trip is designed to be fun, supportive, and social. We stay super close to the ski lifts, so if you only fancy short days of skiing, no stress, head back to the hotel, relax for a bit and head out for a hot chocolate!

If you are up for new experiences, learning something new and pushing yourself, this ski trip is the one for you! There’s something so special about sharing this experience with a group of like-minded girls. You’ll laugh, encourage each other, and celebrate every small victory together, whether it’s your first snowplough or your first run without falling, you’ll come away from the Gals Who Ski trip with newfound confidence, a group for friends for life and an addiction to fondue…

When is the Best Time to Go Skiing in Andorra?

The ski season in Pas de la Casa generally runs from late December to early April, but for beginners, the perfect time is usually January to March. During these months, snow conditions are great, the slopes aren’t as crowded as in peak holiday periods, and there’s plenty of daylight to enjoy both skiing and après.

A fun part of this trip is that you start with a night in Barcelona, giving you a chance to sample sangria and tapas before hitting the slopes! It’s the best of both worlds!

What Makes Pas de la Casa Perfect for Skiing?

Pas de la Casa in Andorra is a hidden gem for ski lovers. As we said before, the Gals Who team has done their research to find a place that is accessible and suitable for everyone! The slopes are great for beginners, but there’s plenty of room to challenge yourself if you’re ready to move onto slightly steeper terrain later on in the trip.

The small-town atmosphere is super cosy, and the restaurants, bars, and après scene offer plenty of opportunities to relax and celebrate the day’s achievements. And the views? Absolutely breathtaking.

Great for Beginners… and Those Wanting to Stretch Themselves

One of the best things about the Gals Who Ski trip is that it’s perfect for all skill levels. There’s the option to add ski lessons to all our ski trips, so anyone of any level can join! Beginners can learn safely and confidently with lessons tailored to their needs, while more experienced skiers can explore intermediate slopes and push their limits. The pace is flexible, the environment is supportive, honestly, girls, you’ll never have a better group of cheerleaders!

What is Après Like?

We get asked this ALOT! Après in Pas de la Casa is another highlight. After a day on the slopes, you’ll gather with your new friends for warm drinks, cocktails, and laughter by the fire. The evenings are a mix of cosy dinners and nights out, enjoying the local atmosphere. Again, there’s no pressure at all. If your ideal evening is lights out by 9, go for it!

Whether you’re sipping a hot chocolate, dancing to après tunes, or sharing stories of your first ski run, these evening moments are what make a girls-only ski trip so special.

What about flights?

We always want to think ahead and choose destinations that have reasonable flight prices. Flying from London to Barcelona and coming from Europe is straightforward, and flights are generally affordable, ranging from £50–£120 return depending on when you book. Booking early and considering mid-week flights (if you fancy spending an extra night or two in Barcelona) can help you snag the best deals. Once you land, the transfer to Andorra is included, yet another thing taken off your plate!

And don’t worry about your ski gear: equipment rental is included in the trip. No need to buy skis, boots, a helmet or poles, you can travel light!

What do I Pack for a Ski Trip?

Packing for skiing might seem daunting, but it’s really simply about comfort and warmth. Essentials include thermal layers, ski socks, a jacket, trousers, googles and gloves. Sunglasses, sunscreen, and lip balm are also must-haves to protect you from the sun reflecting off the snow.

Bring a small backpack or a trusty Uniqlo bag for snacks, water, and maybe a camera to capture those unforgettable moments.

How Do I Sort It All?

That's the best part: you don’t have to do it all yourself. On our Gals Who Ski trips, everything is arranged for you, from the accommodation in Pas de la Casa and Barcelona to transfers, equipment, and lessons. You can arrive and instantly be part of a supportive, fun group. Whether you’re learning to ski for the first time or just want all the benefits of the trips without any of the admin, this is the trip for you!

So there you go! If you are looking for your next adventure, we hope this has shown you why skiing with Gals Who Travel should be on your list! See you on the mountains soon, gals!
